Keo Mango is a tropical fruit familiar to the vast majority of people. During annual high seasons, Acacia mangoes can be easily seen on sale from supermarkets, shops to street stalls everywhere.
Keo mango is a mango variety originally imported from Ta Keo region of Cambodia, later grown in bordering provinces near Vietnam. Nowadays, they are grown in many provinces in the south and southwest of Vietnam. This type of mangoes stand out from other mango varieties because of its deliciousness.
Each year, Acacia mango has 2 crops in October-December and February-April.
Keo mango is inherently less sour even when unripe; when ripe, it is is sweet, light and not sour, not pungent with latex, and easy to eat. In particular, ripen Keo mango’s skin is not yellow like other mango varieties, but its taste is in fact far greater.
R2E2 mango, also known as Australian mango, is a new mango variety introduced recently into Vietnam. It was selected in 1982 from a sapling of the American Florida Kent variety, and named after the row and location of the original plant at the Australian Department of Agriculture and Fisheries - Bowen Research Facility.
